If you know me at all you know that I love themes. I dunno, maybe that's why I enjoyed humanities-studying themes across multiple mediums etc...but anywho, I love themes. And it seems that the best bday parties have themes. The last themed bday party I threw for code was a lost (the tv show) themed party. So this year I decided on an IT Crowd themed party (a funny british show). As you could probably guess I looked online to find ideas as far as decorations or food and there was NOTHING. It's actually pretty sad at how little there was in the way of IT Crowd parties. So I just came up with stuff on my own. With the simple use of red butcher paper I created our own lil "red door" (sorry I'm not going to explain all of the significances of these things-you'll just have to watch it for yourself). then I printed out tons of pics from the show and added bday messages to cody and taped them up on the wall. For the food table I had tons of wires/hdmi cables/random computer things. I also made a mini version of the "internet" (if you're curious search for: it crowd internet episode on youtube and you'll get it). The only themed food we had were smarties (moss eats smarties cereal in an episode), and the cake instead of having 27 on it had the new emergency number: 0118 999 881 999 119 725...3. It was a lot of candles but so worth it haha.
We had lots of great friends there and it was really fun to see everyone again-for most of them this was the first time we have seen anyone since moving back.
So Jake and I picked Cody up from work and we went to texas roadhouse--mmmmm.
Afterwards we drove up to our spot that we used to go walking to back when we were dating and cody opened his presents. He got some books and field notes stuff and got this cool graphic art of the seoul metro for his office. Then we headed back to our place for cake and a "quiet evening at home". Of course Code drove home a different way and almost saw all the cars out front but luckily he didn't think anything of it. We walked in and Code said he was seriously scared cause he saw a dark figure by the door and thought we were walking in on a burglary- I'm that good at keeping low expectations. Rather than thinking I planned a surprise party he first accepted the idea that we were being robbed haha. It was pretty funny to see his reaction!
General decorations:
the red door:
"Another Birthday and another year closer to death..."
"You're how old again?"
"I hope it doesn't sound arrogant when I say you are the greatest man in the world....today"
"Well, I'm the boss...head honcho...el numero uno...Mr. Big, The Godfather, Lord of the Rings, the Bourne...Identity, Taxi Driver. Jaws. I forgot the question quite awhile back....Happy Birthday!"
"Can I get a piece of cake in here?!"
"I came here to eat birthday cake and party down, and I just finished my cake...."
"It's the Birthday Boy!"
The peeps (I would have had more pictures but my camera was saying it was full so this is what I got):
steve and tyler
Amy and Brett (our cousins from ogden)

rusty! and Larissa-which made me think of Clarissa explains it all- all night :)
becca and....I can't tell who this is but I wanna say Alan's wife? I just blanked on her name (prolly cause I haven't officially met her yet ;)
Jason (cousin from my side) dishing up the cake
It's hard to tell from the above pictures but we really did have a lot of people over-around 15 I think.
Our food table:
I made some Moss Glasses out of paper and put out some pens (from the return of the golden child episode)
"It's not like losing a pen is it?"
The Cake I didn't manage a picture of it so I got this short video which cut me off cause again it said I didn't have enough space-sigh:
It was lots of fun but no one had more fun than jake the next day as I was taking down the decorations:
love this!
