As I get older the more and more I like this holiday. And while the personal neighborhood fireworks aren't quite as all out as in Texas, Utah did a respectable job. Of course they have the stadium of fire which if you're near enough to see is great, but we were a lil south for that. So we benefited from our neighbors' own fireworks display :) It doesn't help that jake's bedtime is 8-long, long before it's close to being dark enough to do anything, but that's ok-there's always next year.
We did however go to the provo freedom parade which is always good. Jake liked it, tho def started to droop after an hour-it got hot and we lost our cloud cover. Then we went to Kneaders for breakfast. Later that day we played some ticket to ride and had a lil bbq meal with eric and sarah who were on their way to the stadium of fire.
All and all it was a fun day, and I can't wait to celebrate it more when our kids are a lil older :)
Jake's shirt for the day
it was good while it was cloudy but it didn't last
a bunch of kids and some adults dancing gangnam style in the streets
trying to get a birds' eye view
he didn't like the firetrucks too much-kept wincing every time they blew their horns ;)
can we go home yet?
we revived at Kneader's where jake would wine until we gave him pieces of our meals. Gone are they days when he'd be content with just a straw or napkin...I miss those days...
our dessert for dinner gotten from ourbestbites.com- their strawberry cream pie.
it needed chocolate
Hope everyone had a great 4th!
