Classic Date Night under 10 bucks

Today was pretty laid back compared to earlier this week.  We're just slowly decorating a room at a time-not rushing it etc.  Today we put up the decorations in our bedroom and Code's korean prints he brought home from his mission which are really cool :).

*side note: I called our old apartment to see if a package came for us after we left (our disney movies that we ordered) and it came! I can't wait to get them*

Jake's been sitting up really well lately.  We don't really hang around him anymore to catch him cause he rarely topples and when he does it's no big deal/doesn't care.  He hasn't managed to get into a sitting position by himself yet.

Naturally we've had to buy a few beanies since moving here but luckily the crazy Utah people think that winter is over (even though it's still in the 30s/40s) and all the winter stuff is on clearance so I got two beanies for a buck which is perfect cause he wont' fit into them by next winter.

Also I had my first experience with some stranger coming up to Jake and touching him in the store etc.  People usually come up and talk to him etc but rarely do they touch him.  I have to admit the momma bear wanted to come out but I held it in, but it was funny-usually Jake smiles and flirts with people around him, but not this time.  He just stared almost as if he were bored and then glanced over at me like, "who is this lady?"

Tonight we went on our first date.  I think we'll do a healthy mix of taking jake with us and getting a babysitter for him.  We did what I like to call a classic date (one that we will frequently repeat).  We went to the Heros exhibit at BYU's MoA-really cool.  It was kind of fun cause there were a lot of families with kids there cause a lot of the heros in the exhibits etc they recognized.
my happy cultured lil boy :)

one of the more interesting/different pieces-the artist did the depiction of his father turned super hero, in the middle, in needlepoint, and then surrounded it with flowers.

After we went for a cazookie at The Chocolate.  Basically a pazookie the size of your face! (baked cookie in a pan with ice cream on top).  It was pretty funny cause we were surrounded by big groups of girls' night outers ("how big are the girls?" anyone? anyone?) and first dates.  It was pretty fun/funny to remember back to that stage of life.  Definitely am happy with our current stage though and wouldn't trade it for anything.  Jake was pretty well behaved-though I had to hold him at the chocolate place cause this group of girls was laughing really loud suddenly and with the wooden floors it echoed/was loud and jake started to cry.  He was fine once I held him though and just stared at the couple to our right with these huge eyes.

it's this cool old looking house with different rooms/floors and you just go find somewhere to sit and they bring it to you.

holy sugar rush!

he wanted some too

A fun date with good variety and all under 10 bucks-not impossible to come by in houston but you'd have to get creative.  (I love all of the free museums here and I will make you jealous as I continue to gush over them sorry).
