So we've arrived! The drive was pretty dang smooth only a lil snow in New Mexico but it wasn't bad. We made it through the canyon- probably the scariest part for code, but he was a champ and drove the big truck and our car towed behind it awesomely. We got here Monday around lunch time and had cafe rio- no need to wait for the good stuff :). Then we met with our guy to get the keys/sign the lease etc.
we had so much help from family and friends it was great! We were moved in in 2 hours and then it was just a matter of unpacking/organizing. We're pretty much done except for decorations- the fun part to me and the dreaded part for code :) " no a little to the left...not that much!" Good times... Good times...
We've managed to visit with some family- had a dinner/game night with siblings who are up here and hung with my mom's side of the fam. I swear everything seems so close here- especially the freeway. It takes us literally 2 min and we're on yet we're not so close that we hear it. Of course we've made dozens of trips to Walmart and Home Depot getting odds and ends that we need and I'm sensing a trip to target in our future as well :)
Jake has been great and seems to have transitioned well-still is sleeping g through the night etc. his eczema is flaring up a little which doesn't surprise me- I mean, if he had dry skin in HOUSTON, he's gonna have it here. But it's not too bad- just have to lotion him up on his cheeks, elbows, and backs of his legs morning and night. We bought a nice humidifier so I'm sure that will help us adjust. My hands have been pretty torn up but I'm working on it: lotions and gloves at night etc. I think we've already started adjusting tho cause yesterday didn't seem that cold and it was around 40 which would be freezing if we were in Houston.
Once we start finishing rooms ill post some pics! We're happy to be here though!
