our front porch friends

We have a family of birds that have moved-in on our front porch.  Jake and I sat on the bench and the mom and dad tried to dive-bomb us but we sprinkled some cracker crumbs around.  We're hoping we can domesticate them so they'll like us :)  After going inside I caught some cute pics of their three babies being fed-they seem pretty big/close to flying or leaving the nest.

feed us!

here comes mommy!

Liz gets married! (at the Ogden Temple-yes dad, it's the ogden temple)

Last week we were able to go to our sister's wedding up in Ogden.  It was fun to see all of our family and it was a beautiful wedding.  It was pretty hot but we tried to stay cool in the few patches of shade- phew!

We got to go to a rehearsal dinner the night before and then the reception the next evening.  The Ogden temple was gorgeous tho! the carvings, moldings, and stained glass in the sealing room was amazing.  It was nice to go to a live sealing so close to our 5th anniversary (this Friday).  It's always a blur looking back on your special day with all the nerves/stress.

The new exterior of the Ogden Temple!  I think they only kept the foundation :)

The happy couple!  (I was surprised that they didn't have a special door/exit for the newlyweds-it was just a regular main entrance/exit so that there was a lot of people in and out in the middle of our pics-but then again, I was married in the Salt Lake City Temple which isn't necessarily like the others- do other temples have a special exit for the bride and groom? or is it just Salt Lake?)

Hanging out at the reception! It was fun to meet a lot of Cody's old family friends from Vegas

It was a beautiful day and even though the boys were pretty exhausted at the end of the day we were glad we could be a part of it!  Welcome to the family Spencer!

Jake's third birthday!

So Jake's birthday was car-themed.  On his actual birthday we started out the day with a balloon surprise the minute he woke up and had some birthday muffins.  He loved his cake and was so excited all day.  That weekend we had a cars party for him and some of his friends.  It was a lot of fun but let's just say there's a reason I go all out every other year.

opening birthday cards:

He got some great gifts!

we went to the farm country and rode horses which = his favorite day! He rode the huge horse like it was nothing.

then he got stuck on the smaller horse which was a bit of a let down after the big horse :)

we went all out with the food making it themed.
