Thanksgiving 2012!! (pt 4)

So the day after thanksgiving we all got ready for Eric and Sarah's wedding!  Jake was so cute in his lil outfit.  It was surprisingly chilly that day which was kinda weird cause the whole week leading up to that point was really pretty warm.  We left Jake with Jessica's sisters to watch and went into the temple. It was kind of fun to see what it was like for all those who came to our wedding-where they waited etc. It was fun to see everyone and the temple was of course beautiful!  It was a beautiful ceremony and was especially cool for our family cause it was the first time that all of our family was together in the temple at the same time plus spouses etc.  So cool times.  I can't wait to see how the pictures turned out-our fabulous cousin Brandee did them.  But we got some cute ones of us as we waited around:

I remember the incredibly awkward moment when you first come out of the temple.  The first two seconds are exciting as everyone cheers and starts taking pics but by that third second it's really awkward cause for some reason no one wants to actually come up to you and hug you so everyone just stands around looking at you like there's this force field they can't cross.  So Code and I were quick to come up and give hugs and say hi:

After we took family pics we took some just by ourselves:

so cute...but oh so cold...
After pictures we checked out the new city creek center right there by temple square.  It was pretty cool and no trip to a major mall would be complete without stopping in the apple store to see the new mini ipads and iphone5.  Then we randomly ran into mike and the gang at the food court where we had some chinese to tide us over til the reception.
for some reason the coloring was all off and slightly blurry....but other than that it's perfect :)
The reception was really nice.  It was fall themed which I LOVED.  They had it a reception clubhouse area in my grandfather's condo neighborhood up in the avenues.   It was fun showing jake off and helped save us from tons of individual trips to meet people :)

The food was way good- I especially liked the woopie pies that were some kind of pumpkiny-spicey cake and a yummy cream cheese icing in the middle.  I also loved the smore station- a way cute idea and an excellent way of making parents watch their kids closely (mormons are notorious for letting their kids go wild at these types of things-I guess they just figure we're all friends and members here so what's the harm).

The cake was REALLY cool:

The centerpieces were these really pretty metal pumpkins, candles, and cornucopias with fall garlands around them.  I scored some afterwards and can't wait for next year's fall :)
