the Rest of November

We are really blessed with awesome supportive family.  With Andy coming so early, Shayne was able to change her plans and come out for that first week of being home from the hospital and was a huge help.  Then my parents came out for a few weeks too.

Gma Shayne and Andrew:

Aunt Megan and Andrew:

Here's Jake meeting Andrew for the first time:
(Jake was already in bed by the time we got home the night before so the next morning was quite a surprise for him)

Though Jake needed a day or so to warm up to the baby/feel sure about him, he never reacted negatively to him.  He's always excited to see him and has accepted the fact that mommy can't always hold him/help him right when he wants pretty well.  The first few weeks we did see in up-tick in tantrums/over reactions on Jake's part but I think that was his way of adjusting plus with all the family coming and going I'm sure it through off our routine a bit, but now he's pretty much back to normal/the tantrums have gone down.
Jake & Andy!

Jake likes it when Andy is on his bed:

Shayne was such a help!  After she left my parents drove out and stayed through Thanksgiving.  It was DEF fun to have them here (plus, if they hadn't come, I don't think we would have made much of an effort this year haha).

We had our first snow that was very short-lived but Riley was very excited.  This was back when he had long hair, and after he ran up and down through the wet snow he had lil snowballs that were frozen solid to his hair.  We had to rinse him off in the sink.  Now we know to wait to let him outside til the snow has had a chance to freeze a lil more I guess....

Everyone came over for Thanksgiving which was fun- here's cousin Olivia very much interested in the baby (I think she wants a baby at her house Eric & Sarah! ;)

Gma Kathy:

all ready to sleep through Thanksgiving dinner in our cute outfit:

Riley was very excited to get inside, I on the other hand knew it would turn into the second to last scene of a Christmas Story with the Bumpus' dogs so we kept him outside.  He's got some serious hops though:
