easter! (whoops...)

So I could have sworn that I blogged about easter but I can't find it so here's a quick recap.  Code and I taught a lesson on the resurrection where we hid easter eggs around the room and in each of the eggs was a clue about the next part of the story etc.  The last egg being empty of course just like the tomb.  It was a hit, so I guess now we know how to have a good lesson-lots of creativity and planning ahead of time :)  I'm excited for our lesson this sunday-it's on baptism and we're going to do the whole metaphor of dropping food dye in water to represent when we "sin" and then talk about repentance/baptism as we pour in liquid bleach to make the water clean again etc.  It's a really fun age.

So, ahem, back to easter...
we had some cinnabunnies for breakfast (not as cute as the ones I saw on pinterest but you get the idea)

Jake wore a cute purple shirt and tie (there was a vest but it was so big it covered his shirt too much).  I tried to do a photo shoot but he wasn't in the most cooperative of moods this day.
jake and mommy:

I LOVE watching the steady deterioration of this photo shoot:

starts shaking his head cause he's realized something is there:

rejection:

am I a mean mom for loving this picture??:

truly done now:

After church we attempted pictures again, and my brothers Steve and his roommate, Eric and Sarah came over for easter dinner.

love this one!

he fell asleep on me in church- so rare now, and so so sweet...

smiling at uncle eric

the boys were nice enough to do the dishes-a lil trade if you will: they can use our washer/dryer and they can do our dishes :)

easter treats

After dinner we played haunted house on the hill and some logo game if I recall...

It was a great easter! I'm so happy to start our own traditions and excited for the day when we can talk with Jake about the true meaning of easter-I'm so grateful for my savior!
