Easter Weekend

I'd say the highlights of the past week would include a surprise visit from my dad (here on business), Easter, and General Conference.  Dad was only with us for a day but Jake def didn't mind.  They walked over to feed some local horses, played in the park, and we went to Rubio's for lunch.  It was definitely a fun surprise (one that I kinda wished came on a Wednesday during my mid-week slump).  But our Friday went by very fast.

Unfortunately Dad couldn't stay for the Easter weekend, but we still had lots of fun with family in the area.  We kinda did it in shifts this year: Cody's sister Megan, Eric, Sarah, and Olivia (or "ia"  as she's known around here) came over along with Sarah's parents on Saturday for General Conference.  In between sessions we had a mini egg hunt in the backyard (that morning Jake had to find his basket.  For having NO idea what was going on he found it pretty quickly.  That's the benefit of being a kid, I guess- always up for  games.

Excuse the plethora of Andy photos but they're all just so cute, I couldn't decide.

some impressive cookie decorating skills by Sarah:

Jake hunting.  He was on top of it this year-I was impressed

yeah....we did some redistribution after the hunt...

Jake's reaction to me asking him to slow down on the chocolate

thumbs up, Easter was a success I guess

The kids thought Uncle Eric was pretty funny and loved his new game- pretending to get hit/hurt by the swing.  What is it with kids thinking other people in pain is so hilarious?

It was a BEAUTIFUL day weather-wise.  Megan, Steve and Rosie came over for Sunday sessions.  It was probably the perfect way to spend Easter Sunday-listening to prophets and apostles testify of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  It was a great weekend!
Jake loved the easter stickers from Gma Kathy-I'm sure he'll be sad once Andy is old enough to want his own.

In between sessions on Sunday we went to the great open field across from our house to fly our kite, and we weren't the only ones with that idea- I felt like I was in Mary Poppins with the whole neighborhood out flying kites together haha.
