catchin' up

We had as much fun as you could have at an election party where your candidate loses :)
It was fun to go all out tho and watch the process-I may have watched it before when I was a teen but who knows...maybe I didn't watch all of the diff news' coverages etc.  Jake liked the balloons especially and I couldn't really get him to look at me for a single picture.

apparently ol' glory looks tasty...

we had pizza and red white and blue donuts-how patriotic?

The other night Code said he had the evening planned.  We drove over to this place that I had never heard of before off of Fry- Ritter's frozen custard.  It felt like the kind of snack shop that you go to at your neighborhood pool.  It was a really nice night-sadly that's still something to be excited about at 7 pm on a Nov night in texas.  I was surprised at how cheap they were-we got two dipped waffle cones (one scoop and 2 scoops respectively) for the same amount that it would cost for one dipped waffle bowl at marble slab.  I still don't understand the difference between custard, ice cream, gilato, or frozen yogurt, but it was really good, and a fun cheap option.

The past few days I've stopped putting the bug/sun cover on jake's car seat and he's seemed to enjoy outings more-maybe he feels like he can see more of what's going on now/interact more etc.

And in other good news, I found the cutest short peacoat for 25$ at old navy-they're having a 50% off sale on all outerwear so check it out!

Can't wait to actually be able to wear it in a week for our Utah trip haha.  Which, btw, I'm so excited for! I can't wait to show Jake around campus, to visit BYU's museum of art, and the springville museum of art, see family, eat at all our fav restaurants and enjoy the cooler weather in general.  The only tricky part is getting there-24 hr drive....ugh...at least getting there shouldn't be too bad cause we do have some frozen milk saved up so we wont' have to stop for EVERY feeding but still...it won't be as quick as we like to make it.
