Leavin' on a jetplane...er...uhaul...

So it's official.  We are moving to Utah.  In two weeks.  I know.  It's a lil crazy, but we're pretty excited (besides missing our friends/family and being the stake mission prep teachers).  Cody has NOT been happy at Exxon so he is SUPER excited to be in a more casual/fun and tech-oriented environment :)  Plus he'll be working with friends from back in our BYU days and is entering their IT team on the ground level before they hire a bunch so there's def a good chance he'll move up and be manager over people pretty fast.  The company is also open to their employees doing on-the-side projects/entrepreneurial stuff so it seems it will be a good fit for Code and give him the flexibility that he wants.
While I don't want to be cold...I love winter clothes/fashion so I guess I can deal with the winters- but can't WAIT for the gorgeous springs and falls, the pretty hiking, and fun cheap family-friendly activities that are everywhere there.  Plus two of my three brothers are living in Provo and Salt Lake so it'll be fun to hang with them again.  As my brother Eric said, "yay! now Sara (my sister-in-law) can learn how to play Rook!" haha and of course there's always BYU sports that will be fun to be near.

I'm sure if we need help packing etc (we're moving ourselves with a UHAUL to save as much as we can) we'll keep the ward informed via facebook.

I've always kinda liked moving-even as a kid when I knew I'd be sad to leave my friends I've always enjoyed having a fresh slate/a new start and learning a new area/experiencing new things etc.

We're looking at a few places in Provo/Orem and Springville so hopefully one of those will pan out soon.

Stay tuned....

  1. We are super happy for you but we are going to miss you guys so much ...especially little Jake! Boo hoo! It was so fun to finally have a grand child near by. Now we are back to "empty nesters"! The other down side is now we'll have to start training some new rook players to take your place. Just when you were getting good enough to beat us now and then too! Any interested players please send in your applications asap!
