It only took a year....

Way back when I was fairly new to the area and ward I visit taught a good friend of mine who had a vinyl business (itsyourvinyl.com).  I had a few ideas like a sign for my kitchen that said I kiss better than I cook and an FHE planner to hang up one day.  I finally got it mostly done today.  It wasn't that it was hard or that I was that busy-just lazy :)

So here it is!

the lighting isn't that great-but it's a strong bright white tho it looks kinda washed out in the pic, and there's a slight weathering/staining around the edge of it that you can't tell here.

So I got this piece of wood (I don't know if you can tell but it has dimensions to it along the edges) at hobby lobby, bought some red paint, painted it.  We sanded the edges a lil and stained them, drilled the holes and painted these lil pegs that I found at hobby lobby white as well.  Then we printed out the vinyl on her nifty machine, applied it and wahlah! (I added some hot glue to help the pegs stick).  It was really easy once I sat down to do it.

Now for the names that will hang from the pegs.  I'm thinking I'll look for some oval or maybe rectangle? (would that look more interesting contrasted with the roundness of the main piece?)  pieces of thin wood from hobby lobby-paint them black or stain them....can't decide and then maybe modge-podge some cool scrapbook paper on to it and then put the names in white or black vinyl on top of that.  Then drill a hole and attach some black ribbon, tie a bow, and then hang them on their respective pegs.
more to come...
