Hotel nolden open for business!

If I had to pick one word to describe the month of June it would be....visitors :)

I really wanted to put some more finishing touches to our home before all our friends/family came this summer, so I used this as a motivator to get a TON done.  Code was a true champ-especially since hanging/putting together stuff is NOT his fav thing to do.  We got 90% of our stuff at Target.  We got some nice new pillows to brighten up our couch.

we got a nice big clock for our living room.

We got a bench/chest thing to hide some of our toys but also offer more seating since we only have a couch haha.

and after the engstroms left we got our family room collage done.

I just used one pic of the three of us and then empty frames or frames with bright summer scrap book paper in them.
We still want to put up curtains in the family room but we're having a hard time finding SHORT curtains that are 60 in (go to the window sill) so jake wont' pull on them etc.  I'm not even picky-I'll settle for white, but they're either long or they're short but narrow and this window is REALLY wide so it'd take 8 narrow ones to cover it properly.  Argh.  I'll find them though....one way or the other...I'd love to find some green ones to match the green 'N' but i'm not holding my breathe.

We added a lamp and mail-basket to our mudroom table

A shelf in our guest bathroom

Our kitchen prolly is the most changed.  We put up red curtains in the kitchen as well as a display of the 13 articles of faith that have red print on them, and pictures of 2 xmas ago with the fam where we all happen to be wearing red accents.  That plus my kitchen aid, my red DIY "I kiss better than I cook", AND DIY red FHE plaque...I'm thinking my kitchen has a coherent theme....

so glad this is FINALLY up!

and a clock on top of the fridge.

we also got a decorative triptych of a fork, spoon, and knife that we need to put up on our big wall in the kitchen.

Our bedroom got some curtains and some wall decor that matches our comforter.

So once we hang the triptych in the kitchen, and our mission plaques/diplomas in the office we'll be pretty much done.  I have been wanting to blow up a cool photo from our trip to the sacred grove with a scripture on it or something but no rush.
Cody was SO patient and willing to sacrifice his ENTIRE saturday to get it done (seriously, we didn't finish til like 10 at night due to multiple store runs.)  I'm so grateful for him and his willingness to support me in my projects.  Stay tuned for the recap of the Nolden/Engstrom 2013 visit :)
